Windsor Baptist Annual Report 2006
Web Team
There's lots of new features on the site these days, so if you’re not already a frequent flyer you should really pop your head around the door.
One of our most popular features in recent months has been the downloadable sermons.
Have you ever missed an evening or morning and wanted to catch up? Have you ever wanted to listen again to a sermon which particularly spoke to you – or perhaps which you weren’t awake enough to take in? Well now you can – quickly and easily online. The sermons are available for individual download or you could subscribe to receive them automatically as a podcast. They will play on your computer and any mp3 player or you can write them to CD. There are future plans to index past sermons in a database to make them easily searchable; at the moment there’s about a year of them on one page and it’s starting to get a bit unwieldy. Paul, Chris and Janet are doing the audio work for this at the moment but any volunteers would be appreciated (all you need is a computer and an Internet connection; we’ll provide the rest!).
The front page has received a bit of a facelift; it now shows interesting highlights from the photo gallery of past church events (some of which can be amusingly random!) and an at-a-glance listing of current ones. Much to Dorothy McMillan’s amazement, there is also a picture of the church which changes from day to night, as if by magic!
The Resources section has also been used extensively for reports and other material, such as presentations used in sermons. Buzzline (the church newsletter) is also available online. All of this helps to aid us in our stewardship of the planet by using less paper!
The Mission pages are in a new style, linked from the home page and may be updated directly by the person(s) responsible; if you would like more information on this, please contact Paul or Chris.
Finally, if you would like to get involved in any aspect of the site – from submitting photographs for the gallery to posting an article about something, come and talk to us or get involved on the discussion forums.
